There is risk factors involved in any type of Open Heart Surgery …the best thing to do is finding a good reputable surgeon that you trust. A hospital and doctor that performs this surgery frequently. Also depending on age, and general overall condition of the patient is another factor to be considered. When we do assesments on an open heart patient where i work at we have a list of things we go from including the age and general condition of the patient..is just part of them. Then we figure in a score on what the risk factor is to be.
